What extrapulmonary symptoms can lung cancer cancer cell secretions cause? 4 extrapulmonary symptoms of lung cancer you should know

Many people think that lung cancer will mainly affect the health of the lungs after it occurs. In fact, lung cancer is a cancer with a very wide range of effects. When people suffer from lung cancer, it will not only affect the health of the lungs, but also cause damage to other organs outside the lungs. This is mainly caused by the secretions of cancer cells.

Extrapulmonary symptoms caused by secretions from lung cancer cells

① Bone and joint symptoms: These are caused by the action of certain special endocrine hormone antigens and enzymes produced by lung cancer cells on the joints. They manifest as swelling and pain in the bones and joints, often involving the tibia, fibula, ulna, radius and joints, as well as swelling of the ends of the fingers and toes in a club-like shape (clubbed fingers). X-ray examinations show periosteal hyperplasia. Symptoms of arthritis and clubbed fingers can occur when the lung cancer lesions are very small.

②Male breast enlargement: This is due to the secretion of human chorionic gonadotropin by lung cancer cells, which causes breast tissue hyperplasia and breast enlargement. According to statistics, about 10%-20% of male patients experience breast enlargement, most of which are bilateral (unilateral enlargement can also be seen). This symptom usually appears about a year earlier than typical lung symptoms.

③ Fatigue and weakness: It is caused by the antidiuretic hormone secreted by lung cancer cells. It manifests as general fatigue, loss of appetite, drowsiness and other symptoms before the typical lung symptoms appear in lung cancer patients.

④ Endocrine diseases: Clinical manifestations are often "moon face" and "buffalo hump". They are caused by adrenocorticotropic hormone-like substances secreted by lung cancer cells, which cause fat deposition and lead to a series of endocrine diseases.
