How to store edamame in shell

Many times, shelled edamame are actually sold in season. If this season is over, it will be difficult to buy edamame in shells, so many friends will buy more edamame in shells for storage. Many friends do not choose the correct method when storing edamame in shells, which leads to some changes in taste. So, do you know how to store edamame in shells?

How to store fresh edamame:

In daily family life, in order to save time, we buy peeled edamame rice directly from the vegetable market.

If it cannot be eaten or cooked in time, it may be kept in a constant temperature place to preserve it. It can stay fresh for a week or longer.

Find a vegetable basket or plate that will not leak the edamame rice, and pour the edamame rice into it without sealing it. This is to prevent the edamame rice from being covered with a white layer after being sealed, which will make it easy to rot and change color and taste.

If a family growing edamame cannot sell so much at once, they can pick it together with the husks, put it in a plastic bag and seal it. Then find a thick plastic bag and put it directly in the refrigerator to preserve it. It will still be fresh when you take it out later. It can basically be kept fresh for a month.

It is not recommended to open the head when sealing it, as this will easily mix the flavor with other dishes and make it no longer fresh.

Pour the peeled edamame into a plastic bag. Empty the air from the plastic bag and tie the bag tightly. Put the beans and the plastic bag in the freezer for quick freezing. You can take it whenever you want to eat it. It can be stored for half a year.

Edamame is rich in vitamins B and C, protein, minerals, as well as carbohydrates, amino acids and dietary fiber. It can be used as the main or supporting role in cooking with a variety of ingredients.

Edamame is generally very difficult to preserve in spring and summer. Those with the skin peeled are easy to rot, while those without the skin tend to become old and yellow and are difficult to eat.

Edamame is relatively easy to preserve in autumn and winter, and can be preserved much longer than in the previous two seasons. Especially in winter, if the peeled edamame is kept at normal living temperature for a week, there will not be any major changes. At most, there will be some dust. Those with skin will be slightly yellow, and they are all very fresh.

What we need to pay special attention to here is that when the temperature is slightly higher in summer and autumn, we should pay more attention to preserving food freshly, which has a great impact on our health.
