There are many reasons for moisture around the anus. For example, the elderly have a reduced contraction ability, which makes the anus not close tightly. Coupled with problems in sleep, diet and many other aspects, the moisture becomes more serious. Some people are obese, because their sweat glands secrete more than ordinary people, and the sweat on both sides of the buttocks is not easy to evaporate, so they will have symptoms of moist anus. Therefore, it is recommended that everyone pay attention to cleanliness in life.

1. Elderly or infirm people

The anal sphincter relaxes or its contraction force decreases, causing the anus to not close tightly. The intestinal mucosa secretes intestinal mucus that easily leaks out of the anus. Especially when you are tired, the anus becomes more moist.

In this regard, the contraction function of the anal sphincter should be strengthened, such as anal levator exercises while sitting in a hot water bath, sphincter contraction and relaxation exercises, anal massage, acupuncture at Changqiang, Yaoshu, and Huiyin points, and appropriate use of Buzhong Yiqi Decoction.

2. People with strong secretion of sebaceous glands and sweat glands in the anus

Especially for obese people, the anus is deeply sunken between the buttocks, which prevents the skin and sweat around the anus from evaporating well, causing the anus to be often moist.

Attention should be paid to the cleanliness of the anal area and keeping it dry.

3. Perianal skin diseases

Suffering from eczema, herpes, contact dermatitis, genital warts, and abscess rupture after skin infection can all cause increased local secretions in the anus.

Timely and reasonable drug treatment targeting various causes can effectively eliminate or alleviate anal lesions.

4. Anal fistula is formed after rupture of anal canal and rectal abscess or incision and drainage. It is also a common cause of anal moisture due to repeated rupture, pus discharge, and inflammatory exudation.

Anal fistulas often require surgical excision to be cured.

5. Prolapsed internal hemorrhoids

In severe cases, hemorrhoids may prolapse not only during defecation, but also outside the anus when coughing, straining, or walking. This is due to the contraction of the anal sphincter, incarceration of the prolapsed hemorrhoids, edema, and increased exudate.

6. Complete rectal prolapse

Anal sphincter weakness often occurs, and the entire layer of the rectum or mucosa prolapses outside the anus. The rectal mucosal fluid will contaminate the skin around the anus, leading to increased secretions from the anus. Surgery should be used as the treatment

7. Postoperative complications of anal surgery

For example, anal fistula or anal fissure surgery may cut off or damage more external or internal sphincters, resulting in a decrease in the anus's ability to close, and the fluid in the rectum may easily overflow from the anus.

Prevention is the key, and surgery should try not to damage or cut the sphincter. Once it occurs, conservative treatment should be performed first, exercising the anal sphincter contraction function, and sphincter repair or anal plasty if necessary.

8. Anal canal and rectal cancer rupture and become infected, causing pus and blood to ooze out, and the anus remains moist. Strive for radical removal of the cancer.
