Never pour this kind of water upside down

With the change of lifestyle, people spend more and more time using their eyes, and eye drops have gradually become a daily "must-have medicine". Since the amount used each time is small, a bottle of eye drops will often be used for a long time. Improper storage and usage may "contaminate" the eye drops, causing eye infection, inflammation, corneal ulcers, etc.

Commonly used eye drops include

Antibiotics, antivirals, anti-glaucoma drugs, anti-cataract drugs, hormones, non-hormonal anti-inflammatory drugs, and lubricants. When using eye drops, the mouth of the bottle comes into contact with the outside world and human mucous membranes, and may be contaminated with dust and bacteria. If you put it upside down after use (horizontally or tilted, especially when placed on a table or in a medicine box), the liquid can easily flow to the mouth of the bottle and bring in bacteria. During repeated contamination, bacteria will continue to multiply and increase. In addition, external factors such as temperature and light will also affect it, causing the eye drops to deteriorate prematurely.

Eye drops must be stored in a cool, dark place

Avoid direct sunlight, high temperature and humidity. Tighten the lid after each use and place it upright in the medicine box or on the table, not close to your body, to reduce the chance of contamination and leakage. If the eye drops are no longer transparent, or have an odor or sediment, it means that the eye drops have deteriorated and should not be used.
