How to remove oil stains that have been there for a long time?

Oil stains are very common substances in life, and they are generally distributed in various environments where people live, especially on various objects. Oil stains are more common because oil stains are degradable and edible, so they will deteriorate over time and affect the cleanliness of the attached objects. Let's take a look at how to remove oil stains that have been there for a long time? I hope everyone can understand.

1. Immediately wipe off excess oil with a rag or paper towel. Remove as much oil as possible before the stain sets on the fabric. Once you notice oil stains on your clothing, try to absorb the oil with a rag or paper towel. Although stains will still remain, the area of the oil stains can be minimized and easier to remove.

If the stain is caused by a thicker oil, such as butter, mayonnaise, or car grease, try scraping off the excess oil with a butter knife, blotting it onto a paper towel, and discarding it.

Remember to blot the oil, not rub it (which won't remove the stain, it will just spread it).

2. If the oil stain is on clothes, you can use a piece of cardboard. This method should be effective in removing oil stains from most fabrics, including fabrics that have been cut into garments. If the oil stain is on clothing, you can stuff a thin piece of cardboard, plastic or other impermeable material into the clothing and place it under the oil stain before dealing with the stain to prevent the oil stain and cleaning products from penetrating into the underlying layer of clothing.

3. Sprinkle talcum powder or baking soda on the oil stains. You can try using absorbent natural powders such as baking soda, talcum powder, baby powder, etc. to absorb the oil that has seeped into the fabric. Use an old toothbrush to gently rub the powder into the cloth to absorb any excess oil. You'll notice the powders start to form clumps, which means they're starting to absorb the oil. As lumps form, wipe them off and continue rubbing. Add more powder if necessary.

You must knead gently until the powder clumps less and less frequently (usually takes 5 minutes or less). When you are finished, gently wash off the powder with water and gently scrub the cloth with the same toothbrush.
