Symptoms and treatments of high intraocular pressure

Eyes are used to observe the outside world. They are very important to our human body and other living things. Intraocular pressure is a kind of pressure inside our human eyes. When the intraocular pressure is normal, it is used to maintain the stability of the eyeball. However, excessive intraocular pressure will cause troubles, such as vision loss, blurred vision, double vision, etc. Here we will introduce the symptoms and treatment of high intraocular pressure.

High intraocular pressure means that the intraocular pressure of a normal person exceeds 21 mmHg without undergoing surgery. In addition, you can touch and press the left and right eyes to see if the pressure is consistent. Eyes that are as hard as rock must have high intraocular pressure. High intraocular pressure can cause swelling and pain in the eyes. In severe cases, it can cause headaches, nausea, vomiting, and even vomiting after eating. It is often considered to be gastroenteritis. After going to the hospital for treatment, it was found that the intraocular pressure was high.

When intraocular pressure rises, symptoms such as eye swelling and pain, headache, decreased vision, and halo vision will appear. In severe cases, symptoms such as nausea and vomiting will occur. Generally speaking, symptoms are more obvious during acute intraocular pressure elevation, while symptoms are sometimes not obvious during chronic intraocular pressure elevation because the patient's eyes gradually become tolerant. If you experience symptoms of increased intraocular pressure, you should go to the hospital promptly to find out the cause and receive symptomatic treatment.
