The correct way to use sinus spray

The correct way to use sinus spray

Sinusitis is an inflammation of the nasal cavity caused by bacterial infection. The main symptom of sinusitis is runny nose. In more serious cases, there may also be symptoms of pus discharge. Measures should be taken in time when facing sinusitis, otherwise it may cause some complications, such as fever, cough, etc. Sinusitis can be treated by using sprays, but you must master the correct method. Here we will introduce the correct method of use.

However, if the correct method of use is not mastered when using nasal sprays, not only will the optimal therapeutic effect not be achieved, but complications such as nose bleeding and nasal septum perforation may even occur.

How to use nasal spray correctly :

1. Please clean your hands first;

2. Clean the nasal cavity;

Before using nasal spray, you should clean your nasal cavity and blow out your nose. You can use seawater nasal spray to assist in cleaning your nasal cavity, so that the medicine can fully act on the nasal mucosa.

3. Shake the medicine thoroughly and remove the bottle cap.

4. Hand-held nasal spray;

Place your right thumb on the bottom of the bottle, and place your index and middle fingers on both sides of the nozzle to hold the nozzle.

Before using the medicine for the first time or if it has not been used for more than one week, shake the bottle thoroughly and spray the medicine into the air 1 to 2 times.

5. Spray the medicine toward the outer wall of the nasal cavity. The number and frequency of spraying should be in accordance with the doctor's instructions.

Keep your head in a natural position and do not lie on your back.

A well-designed nasal spray is in the form of diffuse mist. It does not need to be inserted completely into the nasal cavity; it can be injected into the front nostril. Instead, it has a large diffusion range. Contact that is too close will affect the diffusion range.

Use your right hand to place the nozzle of the nasal spray into the front of the left nostril, with the nozzle pointing toward your outer canthus (outer corner of the eye), keeping the bottle basically vertical and not tilted excessively. Since the inside of the nasal cavity is the nasal septum, do not point the spray head toward the inside of the nasal cavity to avoid spraying on the nasal septum. Avoiding the nasal septum prevents the impact force from causing nose bleeding, and also prevents the spray from directly impacting the nasopharynx and causing irritation. The lateral direction is the area where the upper, middle and lower nasal conchae are attached, which has rich mucosa, good absorption and minimal irritation.

6. Press and breathe in gently through your nose, then breathe out through your mouth;

7. Move the nasal spray to your left hand and repeat the above steps.

8. After using the nasal spray, wipe the bottle mouth clean, put the bottle cap on, and place the bottle vertically.

Precautions

1. Even if you feel your condition has improved, please do not stop taking the medicine without consulting your doctor.

2. Please store the medicine according to the instructions, keep it in a dry and cool place and out of reach of children.

3. Please use according to the doctor's instructions. Do not use it in excess or exceed the number of times specified by the doctor to avoid increasing the chance of side effects.

4. After using the nasal spray for a week or longer, the nozzle may be clogged. The device should be cleaned as follows. Generally, the nozzle should be cleaned once every week.

Open the bottle cap and soak the nozzle in warm water for a few minutes. Do not poke the nozzle with a needle to avoid damage.

5. Please follow the doctor's instructions when taking the medicine during pregnancy or lactation.

6. If it comes into contact with eyes accidentally, please rinse immediately with clean water.

7. If you feel any discomfort during use, please consult a doctor immediately.
