What causes stool to become thinner?

Although feces are excretions of the body, the color and shape of the feces can be used to determine whether the body has a disease. Therefore, most medical opinions include observing feces. Some people have abnormal stools, which become thinner, that is, the diameter of the stool is thinner than usual. This is an abnormal phenomenon. Let’s take a look at the reasons why the stool becomes thinner?

There is often a reason why the stool becomes thinner. Experts point out that anorectal diseases such as hemorrhoids, foreign objects, enlarged anal papillae (anal papilloma), anorectal tumors, etc. can cause the stool to become thinner. If people have abnormal conditions such as sudden thinning of the stool, they need to go to the hospital for examination and treatment in time!

1. Causes of anal foreign bodies: Anal diseases such as hemorrhoids, internal hemorrhoids, external hemorrhoids, mixed hemorrhoids, anal fistulas, and perianal abscesses bring obvious discomfort to patients. When there is anal foreign body, the foreign body blocks the anus, making it difficult for the patient to defecate, or the stool becomes thinner and smaller due to the pressure of foreign bodies, causing abnormal bowel movements.

2. Caused by hemorrhoid disease: Hemorrhoids are caused by varicose veins and fibrous tissue hyperplasia of the anal canal and lower rectal mucosa. Especially for internal hemorrhoids, the patient has a protrusion or a ring-shaped protrusion in the anus. The protrusion occupies the area of the anal canal, and the stool passing through it is compressed and becomes thinner, and there is often blood on the surface of the beginning and end.

3. If it is enlarged anal papilla: Enlarged anal papilla is also called anal papilloma. It is one of the common benign tumors of the anorectum due to long-term stimulation of feces and chronic inflammation. The anal papillae become enlarged and become tumors, which often block the anus. The patient has difficulty defecating or the stool becomes thinner due to pressure and the stool is not completely defecate.

4. Anorectal tumors: Early symptoms of colorectal cancer. Patients have increased bowel movements, unformed or loose stools, and blood and mucus in the stools. Sometimes constipation or diarrhea alternates with constipation, and the stool becomes thinner. Abdominal pain, varying in severity, usually dull pain or bloating. When tumor necrosis or secondary infection occurs, patients often have fever.
