Will the needle treatment hurt?

The living standards of modern people are getting higher and higher, but dental problems are also increasing. Most people don’t care much when they have problems with their teeth. They will only go to the dentist for treatment when the toothache is unbearable. There is a method of treating toothache called root canal treatment, which mainly involves drilling a hole in a person's tooth to observe the internal condition of the tooth. Is root canal treatment painful?

Generally, the process will not be painful! Because the doctor will perform local anesthesia before treatment, and filling a tooth is not feasible! The decayed area of the crown is large, and the pulp is infected. The filling material is easy to fall off after the filling. The necrotic pulp is not removed in time, and the gums will develop abscesses. Instead, the inflammation will cause severe pain. At the same time, they cannot be pulled out. Real teeth are always better than dentures, no matter how good they are.

1. What is root canal treatment?

In simple terms, it is to remove the diseased pulp, clean the root canal, apply medicine, disinfect and seal it, and then observe for 1 to 2 weeks. After the examination is confirmed, the root canal is filled, and the gutta-percha is inserted into the canal for sealing. Some patients still feel pain after root canal treatment. The reason lies in this. If the root canal is not rinsed clean, there will be residual pulp. In addition, if the porcelain crown is not worn, the original tooth is easy to crack and may have to be extracted!

2. Why are teeth prone to fracture after root canal treatment?

Generally, a hole must be drilled in the middle of the tooth to facilitate viewing of the pulp. At this time, the crown becomes thinner, and the original tooth is fragile after treatment. Although it will be filled with composite resin, tooth cracks are inevitable due to long-term chewing of hard food. If even the root is cracked, there is no way to wear a porcelain crown and the tooth can only be extracted, which is so painful that you will doubt your life.

3. How long after root canal treatment can I wear porcelain teeth?

Of course you can't wear it immediately after treatment! Because you have to observe for about 2 weeks to see if there are any adverse reactions such as pain. You can wear it only after confirming that there is no problem. The doctor is afraid that you will break it again, so he will make a temporary crown for you during the observation period. Many people's teeth continue to hurt after root canal treatment, which means that the pulp has not been cleaned yet. The worst case scenario is that they have to undergo root canal treatment again, which is extremely painful.

Pulpitis and apical periodontitis caused by tooth decay require root canal treatment. If you want to relieve pain, you must fill your teeth early to avoid being tortured by toothache.
