According to research, after soaking dried kelp for 15 minutes, 85.9% of the iodine was dissolved in water, and after soaking for 40 minutes, 80% of the mannitol was dissolved. If soaked for several hours or even days, these two nutrients in the kelp will be almost gone, and only kelp glue and cellulose will remain. It can be seen that kelp should not be soaked for a long time, generally 5 to 10 minutes is appropriate.

In addition to not soaking kelp for long periods of time, you should also pay attention to not using too much water for soaking. Generally, the amount of water used for every 500 grams of kelp should not exceed 2500 ml. Too much water will also cause the nutrients to be lost.
