Enema is a surgical procedure in which medicine is poured into the human intestines to clear and clean the intestines, thereby helping patients to relieve the problem of being unable to defecate for a long time. It can also treat many inflammatory diseases. Many surgeries require enema before they are performed, especially gastrointestinal surgeries, which require patients to have an enema in advance and clean themselves before the surgery can be performed, otherwise too much feces will affect the progress of the operation. The operation process of the large-volume non-retention enema method : 1. Prepare all the supplies, bring them to the patient's bedside, explain clearly to the patient to gain cooperation, close the doors and windows, cover with a screen, and ask the patient to urinate. 2. Lie on your left side, take off your pants to your knees, bend your knees, move your buttocks closer to the edge of the bed, put a rubber sheet and a treatment towel under your buttocks, and bend your hips to the side. If the patient loses control of the anal sphincter, the patient can be placed in a supine position with a bedpan placed under the buttocks and covered with a blanket without exposing the patient's limbs. 3. Hang the enema tube on the infusion stand, with the liquid level 40-60 cm away from the anus. Lubricate the front end of the anal canal with soapy water (paraffin oil), release a small amount of liquid into the curved plate, exhaust the gas in the tube, clamp it with hemostatic forceps, separate the buttocks with your left hand to expose the anus, gently insert the anal canal 7-10 cm into the rectum, loosen the hemostatic forceps, fix the anal canal, and allow the solution to flow in slowly. 4. If the flow of solution is blocked, move the anal canal slightly and pull it out if necessary to check whether there is any fecal blockage. If the patient has the urge to defecate, the instillation tube should be lowered appropriately, and the patient should be asked to take a deep breath to relieve abdominal pressure. 5. When the solution is about to be poured in, clamp the rubber tube, wrap the anal tube with toilet paper, pull it out and put it into the curved tray, and wipe the anus clean. Ask the patient to lie flat for at least 5-10 minutes to help soften the stool. 6. For patients who cannot get out of bed, provide them with a bedpan and place toilet paper and signal lights within easy reach of the patient. 7. Clean the items, rinse the anal canal, soak it in disinfectant, and then clean and disinfect it. 8. After defecation, help the weak patient to wipe the anus, take out the bedpan and rubber sheet, take out the treatment towel, tidy up the quilt, open the doors and windows for ventilation, help the patient wash his hands, and rest in bed. 9.
