What changes occur in the location of kidney stone pain

Kidney stones can cause acute abdomen, which causes severe pain after the stone is blocked in a certain area. The pain caused by kidney stones varies depending on the size and location of the stone. In the upper urinary tract, tearing pain may occur due to blockage of the internal renal tubules. In the lower urinary tract, the pain is very intense. When the pain is severe and has some inflammatory effects, you can choose painkillers to relieve the pain.

Minimally invasive surgery:

The so-called minimally invasive surgery is to minimize the trauma to the patient during surgical treatment. This type of surgery is short in operation time and involves less bleeding, which can relieve the pain to a certain extent. However, if the stones cannot be removed completely, the stones remaining in the human body will continue to grow, forming new stones.

Extracorporeal lithotripsy:

This surgical method is more suitable for patients with a single stone in their body, and the size of the stone is 0.5cm or more. This is also the treatment method preferred by most patients. However, this surgical method causes certain damage to the kidneys and cannot be used for many special patients. At the same time, symptoms such as bleeding and pain will occur after lithotripsy.

Kidney removal:

If the patient's condition has not reached a certain level of severity, it is not recommended for patients to choose this surgery. This surgical method brings great physical and psychological pain to patients with kidney stones.

Drug treatment:

For patients who are diagnosed with the disease at an early stage, drug treatment will be used in medicine, and the doctor will prescribe the right medicine according to the patient's condition; although the treatment process is not as immediate as surgery, it can regulate the stone constitution very well.

Under what circumstances will kidney stones not cause pain ?

1 The stones are small and no obstructive symptoms occur. In this case, the patient may not experience back pain or discomfort, and the condition is generally not serious. However, as the stones grow larger year by year, the patient's condition worsens unknowingly.

2 The stones are large, but no obstructive symptoms occur. Most patients do not take this situation seriously.

3 The stones cause chronic obstruction and hydronephrosis slowly worsens. In this case, most patients are unable to feel the back pain or discomfort, and as the hydronephrosis worsens, the best time for treatment may be missed.

4 If kidney function is severely damaged or lost, sensitivity to pain will be significantly reduced or disappear, and pain symptoms may not occur.

5 For some ureteral stones, there may be no obvious symptoms of low back pain after the acute phase. However, due to the presence of stones, polyps may proliferate at the site of ureteral obstruction, ureteral stenosis may occur, and ureteral dilatation and hydronephrosis may occur above the obstruction site.

Kidney stones may cause no symptoms at all in mild cases, but in severe cases, anuria, renal failure, toxic shock and even death may occur. Therefore, if you experience symptoms of lower back pain, you should go to the hospital in time for ultrasound, X-rays and other examinations to clearly diagnose kidney stones. Once diagnosed, you should go to the hospital for treatment in time.
