What is the effect of glucose infusion

Glucose infusion definitely has many effects on people's bodies. The most common one is that it can treat unconscious patients and prevent one's own resistance from decreasing. However, you must be aware that you cannot take it if you already have edema-type diseases, such as cirrhosis and ascites. Patients with these diseases must not be injected with glucose.

Sodium and chloride are important components of extracellular fluid. An appropriate amount of sodium chloride can maintain normal blood and extracellular fluid volume and osmotic pressure. The sodium concentration in human serum remains constant, generally at 135~145mmol/L. The loss of sodium chloride is often accompanied by the loss of water. Different loss ratios can cause hyperosmotic or hypoosmotic states of the blood. Glucose is an important nutrient for the human body. Every 1g of glucose can produce 4 kcal of heat energy, so it is used to supplement calories. Glucose and sodium chloride injection can be used to replenish water, calories, electrolytes, and maintain the stability of body fluid volume and osmotic pressure.

1. Water loss due to various reasons, including hypotonic, isotonic and hypertonic water loss; 2. Hyperosmotic non-ketotic coma, the use of isotonic or hypotonic sodium chloride can correct water loss and hyperosmotic state; 3. Hypochloric metabolic alkali poisoning. When patients are unable to eat or eat less for some reason and need to supplement their daily physiological needs, they can generally be given sodium chloride injection or compound sodium chloride injection. Because this product contains very little potassium, hypokalemia requires additional supplementation as needed.

1. Use with caution in the following situations: (1) edema diseases, such as nephrotic syndrome, liver cirrhosis, ascites, congestive heart failure, acute left heart failure, cerebral edema and idiopathic edema; (2) patients with oliguria in acute renal failure and patients with chronic renal failure with decreased urine volume and poor response to diuretics; (3) hypertension; (4) hypokalemia. 2. Follow-up examinations: (1) serum Na+, K+, and Cl- concentrations; (2) blood acid-base balance indices; (3) renal function; (4) blood pressure and cardiopulmonary function.

Compound sodium chloride is a drug for replenishing body fluids and regulating water and electrolyte balance. It contains water for injection, Na+ and Cl- ions and a small amount of K+ and Ca2+ ions. Na[sup]+[/sup] and Cl[sup]-[/sup] are important electrolytes in the body, mainly existing in the extracellular fluid, and play a very important role in maintaining the normal volume and osmotic pressure of blood and extracellular fluid in the human body.

The normal blood Na[sup]+[/sup] concentration is 135-145 mmol/L, accounting for 92% of plasma cations and 90% of the total osmotic pressure. Therefore, the amount of plasma Na[sup]+[/sup] plays a decisive role in the osmotic pressure. The normal serum Cl[sup]-[/sup] concentration is 98~106mmol/L. The human body mainly regulates through the hypothalamus, posterior pituitary gland and kidneys to maintain the stability of body fluid volume and osmotic pressure. In addition to the above functions, compound sodium chloride can also supplement a small amount of potassium ions and calcium ions.
