2. It is as effective as nitroglycerin, but its effect is longer than nitroglycerin, with 27 cases (16.88%) taking effect 7-10 minutes after administration. 3. The analgesic effect after taking the medicine was not as good as that of nitroglycerin. In 6 cases (3.75%), it was effective only after taking 2 tablets.

4. Ineffective in 8 cases (5%). side effect:

3 cases felt nauseous to the smell of musk and gradually adapted to it with continued use without stopping the drug. Side effects such as headache, head swelling, and dizziness were observed in patients with hypertension. Blood pressure increased. No pulse acceleration phenomenon was found. In view of the fact that in 30 cases the effect was slower and worse than that of nitroglycerin, and some cases only relieved pain after taking 2 tablets (but no toxic reaction was observed), it is possible to consider increasing the content of each tablet to 50 mg, which may improve the efficacy.

The harm of musk:

1. Respiratory system: weak and irregular breathing, cold limbs, blue face, coma, and even respiratory arrest.

2. Urinary system: It may lead to acute renal failure, anuria, obvious edema of both lower limbs and face, significant increase of urine protein and urine red blood cells, and even death; or worsen the condition of patients with chronic nephritis.

3. Digestive system: erosion of oral mucosa and pharynx, foreign body sensation in the mouth, tooth loss, nausea and vomiting, abdominal pain and diarrhea.

4. Blood system: epistaxis, bleeding from the teeth, hematemesis, blood in the stool, hematuria and widespread bleeding spots throughout the body.

5. Others: External use may cause local tissue necrosis.

In fact, musk and musk ketone are both very low in toxicity. However, there are reports of two cases of acute renal failure caused by musk poisoning; there are also reports of allergies caused by external use of musk ointment.
