1. Clinical Report

Treat bone and joint tuberculosis. Take 1-1.5 liang of dried Lomo root, add 1000 ml of water, simmer for 6-8 hours, concentrate to 300 ml, remove the residue and add appropriate amount of wine to take all at once. Boil the residue again as above. One course of treatment is 3 months, and 2 to 3 courses can be taken consecutively. 15 cases were clinically treated, including 6 cases of lumbar tuberculosis, 2 cases of thoracic tuberculosis, 1 case of cervical tuberculosis, 5 cases of hip joint tuberculosis, and 1 case of sacroiliac joint tuberculosis. Except for local treatment, no other anti-tuberculosis drugs were used during the treatment. Usually, a large amount of pus and caseous necrotic tissue will begin to be discharged from the fistula one week after taking the medicine. Later, the pus will gradually become thinner, appetite will increase, and weight will increase. After treatment, 12 cases of fistula were closed, X-ray examination showed that the lesions were stable, and all symptoms disappeared. One case was significantly effective, and 2 cases improved.

"Compendium of Materia Medica" says: "Lomo is a medicine for invigorating deficiency and fatigue, and for improving essence and qi. This medicine is mild and nourishing, and is suitable for all people who are overworked and exhausted. Those whose tendons, bones and blood vessels have been tired and paralyzed by labor for a long time can feel relieved immediately after taking this medicine. However, it is better to nourish blood and generate blood than to goji berries; it is as effective as wolfberry in strengthening essence and nourishing qi; it is as effective as honeysuckle, barbata and violet yedoensis in detoxifying and relieving carbuncle."

① Tao Hongjing: "The leaves of the ramie are thick and large, and they grow like vines. When picked raw, they have white juice. People grow them a lot. They can be eaten raw or steamed."

② "Compendium of Materia Medica Supplement": "Lomo, according to Tao's notes on wolfberry, is used to treat swelling. Eastern people call it white ring vine. It grows in hedges and has white juice when broken off. It is also called que gou. This "Tang Materia Medica" also says that que gou is female green. However, female green is not white ring. The two are similar and cannot be distinguished."
