Is rabies vaccine antibody testing necessary?

Is rabies vaccine antibody testing necessary?

Rabies is quite harmful. Once it occurs, there is almost no way to treat it, and it has a 100% mortality rate. Therefore, special attention must be paid to the injection of rabies vaccine, especially if you come into contact with some animals, such as cats and dogs. You should pay more attention to vaccination. After the vaccination, you should understand whether antibodies have been produced. If not, a second vaccination is required.

1. There is no very effective treatment for rabies. Rabies is the most dangerous viral disease of all infectious diseases. Once you are infected with this disease, the possibility of recovery is basically zero. There is no specific treatment so far. The medical community has repeatedly tested and applied a variety of new drugs such as interferon α and high-dose human anti-rabies globulin for clinical treatment, but they all ended in failure. Therefore, it is very important to give timely preventive treatment after being bitten, especially by very ferocious animals or mad dogs.

2. It is recommended that you should pay more attention to avoid close contact with large ferocious animals. If you are bitten by them, you must pay attention to the cleaning of the wound. Immediately wash the bitten area with soapy water and clean water, and then clean it with alcohol (the specific dosage is determined by the doctor) or chloramine. Be careful not to suture the wound. If conditions permit, I suggest you go to the hospital and let the doctor clean it for you. After all, they are more professional! Don’t think it’s an exaggeration!

3. For patients confirmed to have rabies, they must be strictly isolated and placed in a relatively quiet, dimly lit single room to reduce or eliminate unnecessary stimulation as much as possible. The excrement of rabies patients must be strictly disinfected to prevent contamination from saliva and other substances from causing harm to the environment. If you are bitten by a mad dog or other ferocious animal, you must start the full course of vaccination as soon as possible.

4. Notes: Special attention must be paid to the diet of rabies patients. They can eat more fresh fruits and vegetables. As well as protein foods that are easily digested and absorbed, such as milk, eggs, fish, soy products, etc. Rabies patients must not eat spicy or hot stimulating foods, as they may aggravate their condition. Also don't drink alcohol or smoke.
