Rational understanding of the hazards of blue light . Since the cause of ARMD has not yet been finally confirmed and agreed upon in the ophthalmology community, possible factors include age, blood pressure, cholesterol, diabetes, smoking and drinking, sunlight exposure (short-wave blue light damage), and eating habits. The harm of blue light to our body also focuses on the impact on melatonin secretion This is the so-called morning effect. Because it has been confirmed that blue light is the spectrum with the strongest inhibitory effect on nocturnal melatonin secretion among visible light, and blue light with a wavelength of around 450nm has the greatest spectral antagonism to melatonin.
