What harm does the rubber factory do to the human body

Now we are all very concerned about environmental issues, and some polluting factories are required to change to reduce pollution signs, especially rubber factories. The reason why rubber factories can cause harm to the human body is that rubber will emit a lot of toxic and harmful gases and liquids during the production and processing process. The gases are emitted into the air, causing atmospheric pollution. When humans inhale these harmful substances, it is easy to induce nausea and tumors, especially damage the respiratory nervous system.

The harm of rubber factories to human health:

①Reason : There are many additives in the production process of rubber: vulcanizers, chemical inhibitors, reinforcing agents, lubricants, etc. Some of them have toxic side effects. Odors are emitted during the processing process. Long-term contact can cause problems with the respiratory system and affect the internal organs, brain, and nerves. Rubber itself is not toxic, but the sulfur, catalysts, etc. added to rubber will have certain effects on the human body during the vulcanization process.

②Main hazards (sulfur dioxide): Long-term exposure to low concentrations of sulfur dioxide can cause decreased or even disappearance of the sense of smell and taste, headache, fatigue, tooth erosion, chronic rhinitis, pharyngitis, tracheitis, bronchitis, emphysema, increased lung texture, diffuse pulmonary interstitial fibrosis and decreased immune function, etc.

Experimental studies on occupational skin diseases have also been conducted in China based on on-site population surveys. According to reports, 93 cases of melanosis were detected among 1,564 rubber workers. The detection rates of compounding workers, rubber mixing workers, molding workers, vulcanizing workers and bonding workers were 2.2%, 23.1%, 9.8%, 4.2% and 8.3% respectively. The highest incidence rate was found in workers with a length of service of 11 to 25 years.

Harmful factors in the rubber industry have a significant impact on the nervous system. We conducted medical monitoring on 245 rubber refining and vulcanization workers who were exposed to dust, toxic substances below MAC, and noise 88 (71-108) dB (A) and found that the rate of neurasthenia (9.7%) was significantly higher than that of the control group (2.3%) (P<0.01). The highest percentage was among compounding workers (14.7%) and inner tube vulcanizers (10.2%), with significant differences. Hao Zhenfeng et al. used the core neurobehavioral test battery (WHONCTB) recommended by the World Health Organization to test the

The Ames test results also showed that the sulfurized fume particles were all positive for mutagenicity. The sperm deformation rate of mice was also significantly higher than that of the control group. It has been confirmed that the presence of sulfide fumes leads to a significant reduction. A survey of 62 dust-exposed workers found that long-term exposure to rubber dust can damage the body's immune function, mainly due to increased IgA and IgM and a decreased percentage of T lymphocytes compared with the control group.
