What harm does dye do to the body

With the gradual improvement of living standards, people have some requirements on their clothing taste and color matching. Now the clothes sold on the market are of their own styles and colorful. These clothes, whether dark or light in color, are all dyed with a lot of dyes. Now the country has requirements on the amount of dyes used in clothes. Now let’s talk about the harm of dyes to the body.

Hazard 1

Most of the instant dyes used to dye cotton fabrics contain highly carcinogenic benzidine, one of which, dichlorobenzidine, can be easily absorbed through the skin and cause skin allergies. Most of the most toxic dyes are used to dye natural fibers. These dyes will cause great pollution during the bleaching and dyeing process, including pollution of air and water sources.

Hazard 2

According to the Shanghai Specialized Inspection Center for Banned Dyes and Chemicals, clothing exported to Western Europe and other countries must be tested for banned dyes and chemicals. Any clothing with an azo dye content exceeding 3 parts per 100,000 is considered to be harmful to the human body and will not be allowed to enter their borders. However, the relevant departments in my country have very few testing equipment and lack the technology. Therefore, experts call on relevant departments to consider establishing relevant regulations as soon as possible and strengthen the testing of banned dyes and chemicals. Consumers should also cultivate self-protection awareness in this regard as early as possible.

Hazard Three

According to the conclusion drawn by the Consumers' Association, some dye compounds release carcinogens, which are like a high-efficiency plaster applied to the skin, causing human lesions through the effects of sweat and body temperature. Medical trials have shown that toxic substances in clothing can work even faster than through diet. A Japanese urologist claimed that the increasing number of women suffering from cystitis in Japan is mainly due to wearing synthetic underwear. Not only that, fashion styles may also cause harm to the human body. Wearing tight clothes regularly will cause varying degrees of damage to the body.

Hazard 4

You may wonder how dye can transfer from fabric to skin. That's because the dye itself is quite unstable. You can find a shirt that you have worn for a long time, and cover it with a light-colored sweater. As a result, when you sweat, the color of the shirt will actually transfer to the sweater. It can be seen that dyes that fade are likely to enter the human body through the skin. This instant dye is the same as the self-service dye purchased in supermarkets or chemical raw material stores.

Hazard 5

Other dyes used to dye natural and artificial fibers may also be harmful to the human body, but they are limited to irritating the skin. Because there is no law requiring manufacturers to indicate the type of dye on the label, it is difficult for us to determine whether the dye used in a certain fiber is carcinogenic or will only cause skin allergic reactions. The best way is to avoid wearing clothes that fade, that is, clothes that lose color when you go into the water, because when people sweat, the color from the clothes will be absorbed by the skin.
