What's wrong with eyeball pain

Eyes are a very important part of our body. Nowadays, due to work needs, many people need to face computers for a long time, which will cause certain damage to the eyes. Sometimes you may experience dry eyes, fatigue, or even eye pain. When this happens, you must let your eyes rest in time to relieve eye fatigue and relax your eyes. Now let’s talk about what causes eye pain.

1. Foreign objects have entered

If you have sudden eye pain, it may be due to injury to the eye or head, or foreign matter has entered the eye, or you have severe headache, nausea, vomiting, fever, confusion, stiff head and neck, etc. At this time, you should go to the emergency department as soon as possible.

2. Eye pain worsens when the head is tilted forward

If you have chronic sinusitis, or have recently had a cold or allergic symptoms, and your eye pain gets worse when you lean your head forward, it may be a sinus infection and you should see an ENT doctor.

3. Frequent tearing in one eye

If the eye pain is accompanied by blurred vision, red and swollen eyes, frequent tears, sensitivity to light, stars in the eyes, nausea, vomiting, frequent tears in one eye and runny nose or nasal congestion in the same side, you may have a migraine and you should go to the Department of Internal Medicine.

4. Protruding eyeballs

If the eye pain is accompanied by bulging eyes, it may be hyperthyroidism, and you should go to the endocrinology department. If you overuse your eyes, it will cause visual fatigue and eye pain. This is not an eye disease and the symptoms will disappear if you take more rest.

Ways to relieve eye pain

1. Pay attention to eye health and actively participate in outdoor activities. After using your eyes for half an hour continuously, it is best to stand up and rest for 5 minutes, gently close your eyes, and do eye exercises; look into the distance, and visual fatigue will be relieved immediately.

2. Wear corrective glasses that suit you, read with the correct posture, and pay attention to adjusting the height of the table and chair.

3. Eye diseases and other systemic diseases should be diagnosed and treated in time; pay attention to eye adjustment and protection. You can use eye drops to reduce eye congestion, activate fatigued ciliary muscles, and improve eye microcirculation.

4. You should get enough sleep, combine work and rest, eat a balanced diet, eat more cereals, beans, fruits, vegetables, animal liver and other foods, and lead a regular life.
