How to treat right lung calcification

How to treat right lung calcification

When you cough every day but various cough suppressants have no effect, it is recommended that you go for an X-ray to see if you have pulmonary calcification disease. The symptoms of pulmonary calcification are very unobvious in the early stages, and some patients may not even have any related symptoms at all. However, once discovered in the later stages, the harm will be much more serious. Pulmonary calcification is particularly prone to occur in the right lung. In order to help you recover your health as soon as possible, this article will analyze how to treat right lung calcification.

Calcification foci in the lungs are generally some special mutations produced after necrosis of human lung cells. The presence of calcification means that you have had diseases such as pneumonia or tuberculosis, but are now recovered. For small nodules, if there are no symptoms and lung function is normal, it is recommended to review chest X-ray and lung function every 3 months. No treatment is required if there is no progression. Incidentally discovered, asymptomatic bullae generally do not require treatment. If accompanied by chronic bronchitis or emphysema, the primary lesion is treated mainly. CT is an effective means of auxiliary diagnosis, but treatment plans cannot be formulated based on CT alone.

Right lung calcification can be treated as follows:

Surgical treatment: The general indications for pulmonary tuberculosis surgery are: sputum bacteria-positive caseous lesions, thick-walled cavities, and fibrous cavities after 9-12 months of regular chemotherapy. Patients with multidrug-resistant tuberculosis whose sputum bacteria have not turned negative after 4 months of chemotherapy, or who are only sensitive to 2-3 less effective drugs and are resistant to other anti-tuberculosis drugs, and who have indications for surgery. Unilateral destruction of lung, bronchial tuberculosis with atelectasis or pulmonary chemosis.

Immunotherapy: It can be used as an adjuvant therapy in chemotherapy of tuberculosis. Commonly used preparations include bovine Mycobacterium vaccine, Bacillus fumigatus vaccine and transfer factor, gamma interferon, interleukin-2, etc.

Reexamination during treatment is very important for determining the effectiveness of treatment and whether the treatment plan needs to be adjusted.

The doctor will classify you as a first-time or repeat patient based on your treatment situation, and the follow-up time for the two is different: first-time patients will send sputum for follow-up examination after taking the medication for 2, 5, or 6 months; repeat patients will send sputum for follow-up examination after taking the medication for 2, 5, or 8 months.

I believe you are now clear about how to treat right lung calcification. If your right lung calcification is caused by tuberculosis, it is recommended that you actively receive treatment. Many patients feel that since there are no symptoms, they do not need treatment. This is a wrong idea. You must know that if the disease continues for a long time, it will also affect your lung function and lead to various lung diseases.
