Not only can you use physical methods to cool down your body, but you can also take Western medicine to reduce fever. What are some traditional Chinese medicine prescriptions for reducing fever?

Antipyretic prescription 1

White radish, coriander root, ginger

It was given by an old Chinese doctor when the child was sick. "Remove the leaves of coriander, leaving the stems and roots, 3-4 pieces, 2-3 slices of white radish, 1-2 slices of ginger, add rock sugar and water and boil for 15 minutes. When the temperature reaches a suitable level, give it to the child to drink. The child will sweat and reduce fever after drinking it." Mothers can try it, the effect is very good.

Antipyretic prescription 2

Almond: 10g Peach kernel: 10g Gardenia kernel: 10g Jujube kernel: 10g

Grind the above four herbs into powder (generally pharmacies can provide grinding services).

Take an appropriate amount, use duck egg white (you can use eggs if you don't have duck eggs) to mix it into a thin paste (not too dry), put it on clean gauze or other clean cloth, aim the medicine at the sole of the baby's foot. It is better to use a longer cloth. You can wrap it around the child's foot several times and tie it with a tape (just like the general medicine application method in the hospital). I usually put a pair of socks on the outside of the applied medicine to prevent the child from kicking it off due to discomfort.

Drinking several large cups of warm boiled water a day and going to the toilet more often is the most effective way to expel the virus. If your throat is obviously swollen and painful, you can add a little salt to warm water. Drinking this light warm salt water can quickly relieve the pain in your throat.

Catching cold is the cause of a cold. As long as your hands and feet are cold, you have definitely caught a cold. Getting rid of the cold as soon as possible is the key to curing a cold. In diet therapy, onions, ginger and garlic are the best foods for expelling cold. Some people like to boil water with a few slices of ginger and a spoonful of brown sugar to drink to expel cold, while others like to boil water with a few onions to drink to induce sweating and expel cold. When you catch a cold and have a cough, add a few cloves of garlic to the ginger and brown sugar water and cook them together. Drinking it can expel cold and relieve cough. Another method is to soak your feet in warm water to sweat and expel the cold, which is also very effective. When you suffer from severe cold, you can soak your feet while drinking ginger and brown sugar water. Be sure to use a bucket to soak your feet, which will make it easier to sweat. You can also take 1/4 of a moxa stick, crush it and put it in a bucket. After boiling it, add warm water to soak your feet until you sweat all over. Then drink more warm water, and the cold will also be expelled quickly.

2. Make sure to get enough sleep and rest:

As long as you have cold symptoms, you must rest in time. This is the key to alleviating the condition and allowing your body to recover as soon as possible. Generally, after drinking plenty of water, drinking a few times of warm onion, ginger and garlic water, and then soaking your feet to sweat and dispel the cold, rest as soon as possible, your body will basically recover the next day.

3. What should I do if I feel sore all over after catching a cold?

Body aches and pains indicate that there is a lot of cold and dampness in the body. You must drink ginger and brown sugar water more often, and you can add more ginger. You can put 6 to 8 slices at a time.

4. What should I do if I have a fever after catching a cold?

If you have a fever after a cold, you should check the temperature of your hands and feet. Although the body temperature has exceeded the normal body temperature, the hands and feet are still cold, indicating that the cold in the body is still severe and you still need to drink ginger and brown sugar water. When you have a fever, add 1 to 2 onions and cook them together to help induce sweating. If your body temperature is high and your hands and feet are no longer cold, stop drinking ginger water and drink plenty of warm water instead. Generally, fever occurs at night. Many people do not like to drink water at night because they are afraid of frequent urination and affecting their sleep. As long as you have a fever, you must drink more water regardless of whether it is day or night. This is the most effective way to quickly reduce the temperature and expel the virus. When your whole body is hot, drink a few large cups of warm water and urinate a few times. You can obviously feel your body sweating easily. Once you sweat, your body temperature will quickly return to normal. Then pay attention to rest and cover yourself with a blanket to prevent catching a cold.

5. What happens on the second day after a cold is critical.

Generally, after the emergency treatment of dispelling cold, sweating and frequent urination on the first day, the body will basically return to normal on the second day, but the body will be relatively weak. The treatment on this day is very critical and is related to whether there will be a rebound. First, look at the tongue coating. If the tongue is still white, drink ginger and brown sugar water again that day to consolidate it. At the same time, you should still drink more warm water. Second, diet is very important. The diet on this day should be light. You can eat eggs, pork and various vegetables with neutral properties. You cannot eat fish, shrimp and other irritating foods, nor can you eat yam and other tonic foods. After eating these foods, especially children, the fever will occur again. Third, rest is also important during this day and you should not be too tired.

If you feel obviously tired and weak the next day, you can eat eel to replenish your body without getting irritated. At this time, the eel can only be cooked as braised eel slices or in soup. Do not add ginger and onions, just put a small amount of garlic for seasoning. Adults can eat angelica powder twice a day, half a spoonful at a time or a little more than usual, which can quickly restore physical strength.
