How to treat cervical stiffness?

Cervical spondylosis, also known as cervical arthritis, is a highly prevalent disease, especially among young people in modern society. Long-term work with the head down or maintaining a sitting posture for a long time can easily lead to cervical spondylosis. Cervical spondylosis is very harmful to physical health and can easily worsen the condition. Cervical spondylosis is prone to symptoms such as neck stiffness and pain. It can be relieved through activities, and proper neck massage can also achieve the effect of relief. Eat more light and nutritious foods and pay attention to keeping the neck warm.

Back stiffness can be effectively relieved by doing this little exercise:

This feeling of stiffness is mainly caused by maintaining a posture for a long time, which leads to stiffness in the shoulders and neck. You can just do more shoulder rotation movements in both directions.

In addition to shoulder wraps to relieve temporary stiffness, stretching and strengthening exercises to strengthen the neck are also important. You can put your left hand under your hips, hold the left side of your head with your right hand, and gently press down to the right side. Make sure your shoulders sink and fully stretch the left side of your neck. You can also lie on your back on a bench or bed, let your head hang down, then lift your head to the highest point, and then slowly return your head to the original point. If you find it difficult, you can gently stroke both sides of your head with your hands to complete it. Do 6 to 8 times each time.

Things that patients with cervical spondylosis should pay attention to in daily life:

1. Patients with cervical spondylosis need to change the position of their head and neck regularly, pay attention to rest, and combine work and rest.

The patient should lift his head and gently move his neck in all directions appropriately, and avoid keeping the cervical spine in a bent state all the time. It is not advisable to work at a desk for a long time at a time. If you keep your head down for more than 2 hours, it will be difficult to effectively restore and relieve the high pressure in the intervertebral space of the cervical vertebrae in a short period of time, which will aggravate and accelerate the degeneration of the cervical spine.

2. Patients with cervical spondylosis should reduce their workload and get adequate rest. Those with severe symptoms and frequent attacks should stop working, rest absolutely, and it is best to rest in bed. This will help improve the treatment effect of cervical spondylosis, promote early relief of the disease and early recovery.

3. Patients with cervical spondylosis should avoid using air conditioners or electric fans for long periods of time at work. Since the onset of cervical spondylosis is the result of the combined action of multiple factors, cold and humidity can easily aggravate the symptoms of cervical spondylosis. You should try to minimize the time you spend working with your head down for long periods of time in low temperatures or cold and humid conditions to prevent the onset of symptoms of cervical spondylosis or the symptoms of neck, shoulder and back pain induced by cervical spondylosis.

4. Patients with cervical spondylosis should avoid heavy physical labor, lifting heavy objects, etc. You should pay attention to protecting your neck to prevent injury. The upper limbs should avoid lifting heavy objects. When the upper limbs lift heavy objects, the force can be transmitted to the cervical vertebrae through the muscles that suspend the upper limbs, thereby pulling the cervical vertebrae and increasing the mutual pressure between the cervical vertebrae. Symptoms of cervical spondylosis patients may worsen after engaging in heavy physical labor.
