What causes high insulin levels and how should it be treated?

Patients with high insulin levels have insufficient blood content in their bodies, which is out of the normal level range, and their blood sugar control is also out of range. High insulin levels can easily produce blood sugar, which can also cause problems for various body functions. People may have high insulin levels due to tumors, increased cell counts, or poor blood circulation in cells, accompanied by symptoms such as fatigue, palpitations, and weakness in the hands and feet, which require timely judgment and treatment.

Hyperinsulinemia means :

The amount of insulin in your blood is higher than normal. As long as blood sugar remains within the normal range, it is not diabetes. However, patients with type 2 diabetes often have hyperinsulinemia.

Insulin is produced in the pancreas and helps regulate blood sugar. Once hyperinsulinemia occurs, it sends a potential warning to the body's normal blood sugar regulation: your pancreas needs to secrete large amounts of insulin to maintain blood sugar within the normal range.

The most common cause of hyperinsulinemia is insulin resistance - your body's response to the blood sugar regulating effect of insulin is reduced or slow, and the pancreas needs to work hard to secrete more insulin to participate in blood sugar regulation. Over time, when the pancreas can no longer secrete sufficient amounts of insulin to maintain blood sugar levels within a normal range, insulin resistance may eventually progress and lead to the development of type 2 diabetes.

In rare cases, hyperinsulinemia may also occur due to:

(1) Tumors develop in the islet cells that secrete insulin (islet cell tumors);

(2) An excessive increase in the number of insulin-secreting cells in the pancreas (islet cell hyperplasia).

The core of hyperinsulinemia treatment is to improve the insulin resistance state. Clinically, hyperinsulinemia often has no signs or symptoms until it causes hypoglycemia, with symptoms such as palpitations, fatigue, sweating, and weakness in the hands and feet.

Treatment

[Strengthen physical exercise]: Physical activity can increase tissue sensitivity to insulin, reduce body weight, improve metabolism, reduce insulin resistance, relieve hyperinsulinemia, and reduce cardiovascular complications.

[Improve dietary structure]: Whether in my country or in the West, people's dietary structure is mainly high in calories and fat. If calorie intake exceeds consumption, it will cause fat accumulation in the body and lead to obesity. Therefore, the diet should be diversified to maintain nutritional balance and avoid overnutrition.

If the disease needs to be treated with medication, it must be under the guidance of a doctor. Take medication and monitor at the same time to adjust hormone levels to within the healthy index range.
