What are the types of HPV viruses?

For example, common viruses in modern life include cold viruses, HPV viruses, etc. Among them, HPV viruses are more harmful and mainly affect adults. HPV virus is the abbreviation of human papillomavirus, which is a member of the genus Papillomavirus A of the family Papovaviridae. It is a sexually transmitted disease caused by spherical DNA virus infection. The main types are HPV1, 2, 6, 11, 16, 18, 31, 33 and 35. Long-term infection with HPV16 and 18 may be related to cervical cancer in women.

The virus mainly infects the human epidermis and mucosal squamous epithelium. More than 130 species have been isolated so far. The virus only invades humans and is not pathogenic to other animals. After regular systematic treatment, the virus will be eliminated by the human body. Some scholars have also suggested that the virus can be carried for life. This debate still requires scientific research and demonstration.

⑴ Low-risk skin types: including HPV-1, 2, 3, 4, 7, 10, 12, 15, etc., which are related to common warts, flat warts, plantar warts, etc.;

(2) High-risk skin types: including HPV-5, 8, 14, 17, 20, 36, 38, which are associated with epidermodysplasia verruciformis. Other malignant tumors that may be associated with HPV infection include: vulvar cancer, penile cancer, anal cancer, prostate cancer, and bladder cancer.

⑶ Low-risk mucosal types: such as HPV-6, 11, 13, 32, 34, 40, 42, 43, 44, 53, 54, etc., which infect the genital, anal, oropharyngeal, and esophageal mucosa;

⑷ High-risk mucosal types: HPV-16, 18, 30, 31, 33, 35, 39 and cervical cancer, rectal cancer, oral cancer, tonsil cancer, etc.

Biological activity: HPV is highly resistant and can withstand drying and long-term storage. It can be inactivated by heating or formalin treatment, so it can be inactivated by high-temperature disinfection and 2% glutaraldehyde disinfection.

HPV has long been known to cause benign tumors and warts in humans, such as common warts, genital warts, and papillomata, which grow on the skin and mucous membranes near the genitals. Like HBV, HPV is also a DNA virus.
