Septic shock: occurs in about 1/5 to 1/3 of sepsis patients, manifested by irritability, rapid pulse, cold limbs, mottled skin, decreased urine volume and low blood pressure, etc. DIC may also occur, which is caused by severe toxemia.

Hepatosplenomegaly: generally only slightly enlarged.
