According to sports health experts, there are about 10 types of people who are not suitable for marathon running, including: people who have not undergone a comprehensive physical examination; people who have not received systematic training; people who feel moderate chest pain and angina pectoris when doing minor activities; people who have had a heart attack recently; people with rheumatic heart disease and congenital heart disease; people with hypertension or other heart diseases, myocarditis; people with severe arrhythmia; diabetics with high or low blood sugar; people whose blood pressure is still over 180/110 mmHg after taking antihypertensive drugs; and people who are too obese.

Before the competition, if a contestant finds himself or herself having symptoms such as a cold or fever, he or she should stop participating in the competition. Each contestant should take the initiative to go to the hospital before the competition to fully understand his or her body's various indicators and follow the doctor's instructions.

Elderly people should be especially cautious when participating in marathon competitions. As the functions of their organs gradually decline with age, they may sometimes suffer from muscle spasms. They must arrange the amount of exercise according to their individual circumstances.
