What is a neurogenic tumor

Neurogenic tumors are a very common type of tumor. They generally grow in the groove area beside the spine, and a small number of tumors grow in the intervertebral foramen. Neurogenic tumors are generally benign in the majority, and are more common in children, adolescents, and middle-aged people. They grow relatively slowly and usually have no obvious symptoms.

symptom

1 Patients with neurogenic tumors may have a series of physical problems. Generally, early stage patients with neurogenic tumors may not have obvious physical symptoms, and it will not affect the patient's normal life, which may cause the patient to ignore the physical problems.

2 For patients with neurogenic tumors, if the tumor grows, it may protrude from the eyes, causing the lateral pharyngeal wall to move downward or become fuller, and in severe cases it may affect the patient's breathing, so the patient needs to control it in a timely manner through effective methods.

3 For patients with neurogenic tumors, if the neurogenic tumor becomes malignant, it may cause the tumor to grow rapidly in a short period of time, and may cause vagus, or the patient may experience symptoms such as hypoglossal nerve paralysis, which will affect the patient's body.

Pathophysiology

During clinical examination, attention should first be paid to whether the neck is symmetrical on both sides, and whether there is any local swelling, fistula formation, etc. Then palpate the neck. During the examination, the subject's head is slightly lowered and tilted towards the affected side to relax the neck muscles, making it easier to feel the lump. During the examination, pay attention to the location, size, texture, mobility, tenderness or pulsation of the lump, and compare the two sides. As mentioned above, neck lumps in adults should be considered as possible metastatic malignant tumors. Therefore, routine examinations of the ears, nose, throat, oral cavity, etc. should be performed to determine whether there are primary lesions in the nasopharynx, larynx, etc. If necessary, nasal endoscopy or fiberoptic nasopharyngeal endoscopy can be performed.

Precautions

Effective methods can be used to alleviate patients' physical problems, and patients also need to pay more attention to exercising their own bodies. Effective methods can be used to alleviate their own physical problems and avoid other physical symptoms in patients.
