What major harm does smoking cause to the skin

Smoking is very harmful to the body in many aspects, including the skin. Frequent smoking will make people look older, cause sagging skin, yellow complexion and other symptoms. It will also cause obvious wrinkles at the corners of the eyes and lips, dry skin, reduce the body's absorption of vitamin C, cause blood vessel contraction, and lead to loss of elastin.

1. The skin is loose and has no complexion, making one look old and haggard.

The dust particles from smoke will stay in the sebum layer of the skin, forming a thin layer that is not easy to penetrate, causing poor blood circulation in the skin, making the facial skin pale, tired, dry and inelastic, and the same is true for smoking.

2. Deep wrinkles at the corners of the eyes and lips.

Smoking can cause blood vessels to constrict, reducing nutrients and oxygen in the blood, causing wrinkles to appear 5 to 10 years earlier. By the time you discover it, it's already too late.

3. Skin becomes dry, dull, and prematurely aged.

The smoke contains toxic substances such as acetone, which can cause dry and allergic skin and is also irritating to the skin. Long-term exposure to thick smoke will make the dryness more serious.

4. Reduce the body's vitamin C

Vitamin C can cause the fibroblasts in the dermis to proliferate and increase the amount of collagen and elastin they produce. It is an important substance for preventing and treating facial aging and sunburn. Harmful ingredients such as tar in smoke will consume a large amount of Vitamin C. If it is passive smoking, the loss of Vitamin C will be even greater.

5. Smoking constricts blood vessels

The body is deprived of important nutrients and necessary oxygen, leading to premature wrinkles. It also causes a loss of collagen and elastin, which are what give the skin its strength, elasticity and youthful glow.

Nicotine is the most deadly toxic substance contained in cigarettes. Since it can enter the human body through the skin, both smokers and those who inhale second-hand smoke will be poisoned. Smoking can prevent the body from absorbing vitamins, among which vitamin C has an antioxidant effect and can inhibit the generation of oxygen free radicals.
