What are the obvious symptoms of lung disease

There are many types of lung diseases, including pneumonia, tuberculosis, and of course the more serious one is lung cancer. These lung diseases have relatively obvious symptoms, usually causing coughing and sputum. Because of the inflammation, they can cause chills, high fever and other symptoms. They can also cause chest pain, difficulty breathing, and asthma. Some patients also have some digestive tract symptoms.

1. Cough and sputum:

The initial stage is an irritating dry cough, followed by coughing up white mucus or blood-stained sputum. The common symptoms of pneumonia include coughing up mucus, bloody sputum, rust-colored sputum, or purulent sputum. During the dissipation phase, the amount of sputum increases, and the sputum becomes yellow and thin.

2. Chills and high fever:

Typical cases start with sudden chills, followed by high fever, with body temperature as high as 39℃~40℃, presenting a prolonged fever type, often accompanied by headache, muscle aches all over the body, and decreased appetite. The fever pattern after the use of antibiotics may be atypical, and the elderly and weak may only have a low fever or no fever.

3. Chest pain:

There is often severe lateral chest pain, often like a needle, which is aggravated by coughing or deep breathing and may radiate to the shoulder or abdomen. If it is lower lobe pneumonia, it can stimulate the diaphragmatic pleura and cause severe abdominal pain, which can easily be misdiagnosed as acute abdomen.

4. Difficulty breathing:

Common symptoms of pneumonia include difficulty breathing, rapid and shallow breathing, chest pain, and toxemia. When the condition is severe, gas exchange is affected, causing a decrease in arterial oxygen saturation and the appearance of cyanosis.

5. Other symptoms:

A few people have gastrointestinal symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, abdominal distension or diarrhea. Severely infected people may experience confusion, irritability, drowsiness, coma, etc.
