What are the dietary taboos for diabetes?

Diabetic patients need to pay attention to many things in life, such as diet, which is of utmost importance and must be kept in mind at all times. Among the dietary taboos for diabetes, the first thing is to strictly prohibit the intake of sugar. High-sugar foods must be prohibited. Secondly, the energy of food must also be properly matched, and too much energy should not be consumed.

First, develop a diet plan.

The situation of each patient is different, so you can ask a nutritionist to comprehensively consider the dietary structure, the patient's subjective symptoms, and objective test results to develop a preliminary diet plan. But this is not a permanent solution. You should return for a follow-up visit at most once a month for further adjustments. In addition, daily diet should be adjusted in a timely manner according to dining conditions, physical activity, blood sugar monitoring, gastrointestinal function, etc.

Second, reasonably match the energy ratio.

Reasonable control of total energy is the main principle of nutritional treatment for diabetes, so as to maintain or slightly below ideal body weight. Protein must account for more than 1/3 of total daily energy; daily fat intake should not exceed 30%.

Third, the distribution of the three meals should be reasonable.

Diabetics with stable conditions should ensure at least three meals a day. Diabetics with large fluctuations in blood sugar and prone to hypoglycemia need to have appropriate additional meals. They should eat 5 to 6 times a day and divide the same weight of food into 6 portions. The pressure of each portion will naturally be less, which not only ensures the total daily intake, but also prevents excessive intake in one meal, which will increase blood sugar. Fourth, there are some things to pay attention to when controlling salt in your diet. Many patients often say that they control their salt intake very well, for example, they use a salt-limiting spoon every time they cook, but they ignore many "big salt consumers", such as MSG, chicken essence, soy sauce, fermented tofu, pickles, pickles, kimchi, puffed foods, etc. Therefore, to avoid eating too much salt, we should start from two aspects: first, eat less visible salt, and second, eat less invisible salt.
