The correct operation method of laser teeth whitening

Laser teeth whitening uses laser technology to improve the color of teeth. It can whiten the tooth surface, clean tooth dirt, etc. There are many ways to whiten teeth. You can use laser whitening or ultrasound to whiten teeth. Laser whitening will add whitening agents, and you can stop if side effects occur.

Specific process:

1. Before the cold light whitening operation begins, the dentist will conduct an oral examination and communicate with the patient. People under the age of 16, pregnant women and patients with severe periodontal disease are not suitable for this type of teeth whitening.

2. Compare and record the color of teeth before whitening, and take photos for archiving.

3. Whitening patients and operators should wear goggles.

4. Mix the polishing sand with a small amount of water and perform simple treatment on the tooth surface. After the treatment, let the patient rinse his mouth and blow dry the tooth surface.

5. Place a moisture-proof cotton strip inside the lips, apply lip oil, and put on a covering tissue.

6. Place the mouth opener into the patient's mouth and make sure the patient feels no discomfort.

7. Apply the light-curing resin on the gums, covering 0.5 mm below the gums, and irradiate with a light-curing lamp for about 3 seconds.

8. Adjust the cold light instrument lamp head. The lamp head should be 90 degrees perpendicular to the tooth surface and just touch the mouth opener.

9. Mix hydrogen peroxide and whitening powder into a paste (note: the consistency should be such that the whitening agent does not drip when picked up with a brush, and it should not be too thick). Apply the prepared whitening agent on the surface of 16 or more dried upper and lower teeth, with a thickness of about 2-3mm.

10. Press the start button to start the first 8-minute treatment. The machine will stop automatically after the treatment. Then use a strong straw to suck out the whitening agent on the tooth surface. If necessary, wipe the remaining whitening agent on the teeth with a dry cotton ball. Do not rinse with water at this time.

11. Repeat steps 8-10 twice, for the second and third 8-minute treatments.

12. If the patient complains of tooth sensitivity or pain, the whitening procedure should be stopped.

13. Usually, two 8-minute treatments are enough to see noticeable results. Dentists generally recommend completing three treatments for better results.

14. After whitening is completed, suck out the whitening agent, carefully remove the light-cured resin and cotton swab, rinse the teeth and teeth, and remove the opener and goggles.

15. You can take photos to compare the color of teeth after whitening and keep them for archiving.

Postoperative care points:

1. After cold light whitening, if the gum edges of some teeth are bleached, there is no need to worry, as this phenomenon will gradually return to normal within 24 hours. Some patients with fluorosis have sparse tooth enamel and are not adapted to whitening agents. If they feel obviously uncomfortable, treatment should be stopped immediately.

2. For some patients with severe tetracycline teeth, the effect of the first prism treatment may not be obvious, but after the second teeth whitening treatment, the teeth whitening effect will be quite stable. As long as you pay attention to daily care, the effect can be maintained for a long time.

3. You must be careful after cold light whitening. Avoid drinking hot or cold drinks within 24 hours, avoid staining your teeth with colored substances, avoid drinking colored beverages such as tea, coffee, cola, red wine, and avoid smoking.

4. Regarding diet, it is best not to eat dyed foods within a week, such as spicy hot pot, betel nut, etc., to avoid washing your teeth with dyes after cold light whitening.
