Anal pain and itching is a condition in which the skin in the anus of the human body experiences pain and itching. It is more common in women and is a relatively common anorectal disease. Usually, there are many reasons for anal pain and itching, which is also closely related to mental reasons. Long-term mood swings or frequent depression can easily lead to anal itching. Causes of Anal Itching Psychological factors: Anal itching can also be caused by panic, depression, abnormal mental excitement or neurasthenia. Allergic reaction: Some people may have allergic reactions after eating fish, shrimp, eggs, crab meat, etc.; some people may have allergic reactions after drinking alcohol, eating spicy foods such as chili, mustard, spices, etc., all of which can cause anal itching. Disease factors: such as diabetes, jaundice, diarrhea, constipation, rheumatism and gout, blood diseases, malignant tumors, uremia, and diabetes insipidus. Cirrhosis of the liver, menopause in women and men, etc. can all be complicated by anal pruritus. Symptoms of Anal Itching Incomplete defecation: There are abundant nerve fibers in the anal canal, including unmyelinated nerve fibers, myelinated nerve fibers, and many ganglia, forming an accessory sensory organ. Therefore, in the early stages of anal sinusitis and anal papillitis, patients often have an incomplete defecation feeling, accompanied by a feeling of foreign objects embedded in the anus and a feeling of falling. Itching: Although the anal itching caused by anal sinusitis is not as typical as anal pruritus, it is difficult to stop the itching by scratching. The itching is caused by the stimulation of inflammatory exudates to the anus, and the patient's anus is often moister than normal people. Reflex pain: Anal sinusitis often causes reflex pain, which can be reflected to the urogenital area through the internal pudendal nerve and the third and fourth sacral nerves, to the sacrum and coccyx through the iliohypogastric nerve and anococcygeal nerve, or to the lower limbs through the sciatic nerve. It can also cause digestive symptoms such as indigestion, excessive flatulence or constipation. Anal sinusitis can affect the health of the entire body and is called rectal neurasthenia, which may be the result of irritation of the internal organs and spinal nerves. The dangers of anal itching It affects work and study. Long-term anal itching makes it difficult to sit or lie down, which seriously affects work, study and other aspects of life. Scratching the skin for anal itching can temporarily relieve the itching, but scratching the skin can cause bleeding, erosion, and stinging, which can make the itching and pain worse and more uncomfortable. The patient is extremely distressed, and over time it can cause neurasthenia, mental depression, loss of appetite, and insomnia. If anal itching is not treated for a long time, it will spread to the scrotum or labia, especially in front and behind the perineum, where the itching is most severe. The itching is worse at night and aggravated by a humid environment. Sometimes it feels like insects crawling on ants, and sometimes like mosquito bites and fire, making it impossible to sleep, restless, and unbearable. |
