There are many symptoms of tinea manuum caused by fungal infections. You can learn about some of the symptoms of tinea manuum and only start treatment after diagnosis. Here are some methods to treat tinea manuum, you can learn about them.

1. Causes of ringworm

The incidence of tinea manuum is relatively high in my country, but its incidence is lower than that of tinea pedis. This may be due to long-term immersion or friction injuries of the hands and long-term contact with detergents, which are important causes of tinea manuum. Patients with tinea manuum are generally middle-aged or young people or women wearing rings. In addition, tinea manuum is mostly caused by direct contact transmission from scratching tinea pedis, tinea cruris and tinea capitis, or the spread of onychomycosis and tinea corporis on the back of the hands. The pathogen of tinea manuum is mainly Trichophyton rubrum.

2. Clinical symptoms of tinea manuum

1. Blister-scaly type

The onset is mostly single, starting from a certain part of the palm, especially the palm, the palm surface, side and root of the index and ring fingers. It starts with needle-sized blisters with thick and shiny walls and clear fluid. The blisters gather in groups or are scattered, and the patient feels itchy. After the blisters dry, they desquamate and gradually spread to the surrounding areas to form ring-shaped or multi-ring-shaped lesions with clear edges and a chronic course that lasts for many years until the entire palm is affected and spreads to the back of the hand and nails, and even the opposite palm. Sometimes blisters can become infected and form pustules.

2. Keratinosis and thickening type of tinea manuum

It usually develops from the vesicular scaly type. Patients have a history of many years of disease, often involving both hands. The skin lesions have no obvious blisters or annular desquamation, but diffuse redness and thickening on the palm surface, deepened skin lines, rough skin, dryness and desquamation. It is prone to cracking in winter, with deep cracks and bleeding, unbearable pain, and affects activities. In addition to dermatophytes, the factors that promote the thickening of keratinization on the palms are also related to long-term scratching, washing, soaps, detergents, stimulation from various chemicals and solvents, and inappropriate treatment.
