What causes neuritis?

Nowadays, many people have suffered from neuritis. After suffering from neuritis, we should consider some of the causes, such as local impact or fracture, and nerve infection. For example, gout or diabetes may also cause neuritis, so there are some factors.

cause:

1. Nerve injuries such as nearby fractures and direct heavy blows;

2. Nerve infection, such as diabetes, blood cancer and gout;

3. Poisoning by mercury, lead, methanol, etc.;

4. Lack of B vitamins in the diet (especially vitamin B for arthritis)

Note: Peripheral neuritis is a general term for multiple peripheral nerve damage caused by various causes, manifested as symmetrical sensory, motor and autonomic dysfunction in the distal limbs, so it is also called multiple neuritis or multiple peripheral neuritis.

Causes

1. Poisoning: heavy metals such as lead, arsenic, mercury, phosphorus, etc.; drugs such as nitrofuran, isoniazid, streptomycin, phenytoin sodium, carbamazepine, vincristine, etc., and organic compounds such as organophosphorus pesticides

2. Nutritional metabolic disorders: such as B vitamin deficiency, diabetes, uremia, chronic strict digestive tract disease accumulation, pregnancy, etc.

Three infections: often accompanied or secondary to various acute and chronic infections, such as dysentery, tuberculosis, infectious hepatitis, typhoid fever, mumps, etc. A few can be caused by pathogens directly invading peripheral nerves, such as leprosy neuritis, etc.

4. Allergic reactions: such as neuritis after serum treatment or vaccination, etc.

5. Others: such as connective tissue diseases, common diseases, hereditary diseases such as Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease, hereditary ataxia, peripheral neuritis, hereditary sensory radiculopathy, etc. In addition, various somatic cancers can also cause multiple neuritis, and can occur several months before the primary lesion shows clinical symptoms of the disease, so it should be vigilant.

Except for a few causes (such as leprosy) in which peripheral nerves have inflammatory changes, the main basis of pathological changes is segmental demyelination and axonal degeneration of peripheral nerves or both. In a few cases, there may be changes in the neuromuscular junction.
