After middle age, people often experience lower back pain. This is caused by degenerative changes in human bones. Some people engage in heavy physical labor for a long time, or have poor sitting posture, which are all causes of low back pain. Common manifestations include lumbar disc herniation, lumbar muscle strain, etc. Some people feel a dull pain in the right lower back. What is going on? Whether it is a lesion of bone tissue or a lesion of soft tissue, it is divided into five major categories for consideration. That is, all low back pain can be considered and differentiated into five categories: trauma, inflammation, tumor, deformity and metabolic disease. 1. Traumatic low back pain: Traumatic low back pain is divided into acute and chronic types. Acute trauma refers to more serious trauma that causes anatomical damage to bones or soft tissues; chronic trauma refers to lumbar injuries caused by transition from acute trauma or repeated minor injuries. For example, lumbar fractures, interspinous ligament ruptures or chronic strain and spinal dislocations all fall into this category. 2. Inflammatory low back pain: Inflammatory low back pain generally refers to acute infection of the vertebrae and spinal osteomyelitis, but it is relatively rare. This category includes fibrositis in soft tissue, chronic fasciitis, periarthritis of the third lumbar vertebrae transverse process, vertebral osteochondritis, vertebral osteomyelitis, rheumatic low back pain, and rheumatoid low back pain. 3. Low back pain caused by tumors: Soft tissue tumors in the waist are relatively rare. Vertebral tumors can be divided into two types: primary and secondary. Primary vertebral tumors include giant cell tumors and hemangiomas. Secondary metastatic tumors are common in the lumbar spine and are cancer metastasis. 4. Low back pain caused by deformity: Spinal deformities that can cause low back pain include: isthmus nonunion, spondylolisthesis, horizontal sacrum, hemivertebra, a certain degree of lumbar sacralization and sacral lumbarization, scoliosis, facet joint asymmetry, etc. In addition, deformities of the lower limbs can also cause low back pain, such as congenital inequality in the length of the two lower limbs, clubfoot, genu valgum, flatfoot, sequelae of polio, etc. 5. Low back pain caused by metabolic diseases: Metabolic diseases include spinal osteoporosis (senile osteoporosis), osteomalacia, proliferative spondylosis (a degenerative disease that can also be counted as a metabolic disease), etc. |
