What is the best way to treat Helicobacter pylori

What is the best way to treat Helicobacter pylori

First of all, I need to explain to you that Helicobacter pylori is a microaerophilic bacterium that mainly lives in the stomach and other parts of the digestive system. It can cause duodenal ulcers and gastric cancer, so it is necessary to carry out sterilization and treatment in a timely manner.

As people's understanding of diseases related to Hp infection becomes more unified, Hp eradication treatment has become very common in clinical practice. Eradication means that Hp can no longer be detected in the stomach one month after the end of treatment. In in vitro drug sensitivity tests, many antibiotics have good antibacterial activity against Hp. However, in the low pH environment in the body, the activity of most antibiotics is reduced and they cannot penetrate the mucus layer to reach effective bactericidal concentrations locally. Therefore, Hp infection is often difficult to eradicate clinically. To date, no single antibiotic can effectively eradicate H. pylori. Therefore, various treatment regimens have been developed that combine antibiotics, bismuth, and antisecretory drugs. Currently, triple or quadruple therapy is generally used, with low doses and short courses being preferred.

1. Indications for Hp eradication treatment The following diseases that are Hp positive should be treated with Hp eradication treatment.

(1) Peptic ulcer, whether initial or recurrent, active or dormant, with or without bleeding.

(2) Gastric MALT lymphoma.

(3) Gastritis with severe abnormalities such as erosion, intestinal metaplasia, and atypical hyperplasia.

(4) After resection of early gastric cancer.

2. Prognosis

The prognosis is generally good, but the prognosis is poor for those with complications.

Dietary considerations

Eating more beans, drinking more tea and eating less spicy food can prevent HP infection.

1. Helicobacter pylori infection often occurs in families. In order to completely eradicate it and avoid reinfection, it is best to treat other family members at the same time and implement a separate dining system to avoid reinfection.

2. Pay attention to eating at regular times and in regular amounts, eat nutritious food, eat soft and easy-to-digest food, eat small meals frequently, and chew slowly; avoid overeating, avoid eating raw, cold, spicy, fried, or irritating food, and avoid smoked or pickled food. Pickled foods containing nitrosamines are also carcinogenic, and when combined with the effects of Helicobacter pylori, they increase the risk of cancer.
