What causes itchy eyes?

If the area around the eyes is itchy, you should pay attention to whether it is caused by long-term use of the eyes, resulting in dry eyes or fatigue. Especially in today's life, long-term exposure to TV and computer has a great impact on the eyes. Or causing cosmetics to come into contact with the eyes may also cause itchy eyes.

1. Excessive use of eyes for a long time causes eye fatigue. Symptoms: red bloodshot eyes, itching or tears.

2. Internet users who frequently use computers may find that their eyes are always bloodshot, dry, and itchy. This situation is often chronic conjunctivitis and has nothing to do with infection. Therefore, it is not advisable to use antibiotic eye drops. If used, they will not only be ineffective but will also cause drug resistance. In severe cases, they may even cause drug resistance and develop into drug-induced conjunctivitis.

3. Treatment: The cause should be found before treatment, and then corresponding measures should be taken, such as improving the working and living environment, paying attention to personal hygiene, avoiding eye fatigue, ensuring adequate sleep, and it is best for people who work outdoors for a long time to wear goggles, correct refractive errors and strabismus, and actively treat the patient's original eye disease. For those with obvious symptoms such as itchy eyes, zinc sulfate eye drops can be applied 3-4 times a day to relieve the symptoms.

4. Long-term use of certain cosmetics or eye contact drugs and glasses. Symptoms: During the period of makeup or medication, symptoms include frequent blinking, red and itchy eyes, and swollen eyes after rubbing the eyes.

5. Cosmetics such as mascara, eye cream and the essences in perfumes may become allergens that cause disease. Not only cosmetics, but also wearing contact lenses may cause eye allergies, this is because of contact lenses. It easily absorbs dust and dirt in the air, and long-term wearing or improper cleaning may also cause allergies. In addition, some contact lens care solutions may also pose a risk of allergies if they are opened and stored improperly for a long time.

6. Treatment: 1. Reduce the use of cosmetics, or replace cosmetics with different active ingredients. 2. Reduce the number of times you wear contact lenses, choose framed glasses, and pay attention to eye hygiene.
