What are the symptoms of sciatica?

Sciatica has always troubled many patients, and after suffering from this disease, patients will become restless. Some patients don’t even know what disease they have. Moreover, the incidence rate of this type of disease is very high. We must be vigilant in daily life and promptly understand the manifestations of this disease. What are the manifestations of sciatica?

Sciatica is more common in men due to inactivity and maintaining one posture for a long time. It is common in office workers who sit for long periods of time and people who use computers for too long. The symptoms of sciatica are: mostly unilateral. The degree and duration of pain are often related to the cause and the severity of onset.

Sciatica refers to radiating pain along the sciatic nerve, mainly in the arms, posterior thighs, posterior and lateral calves, and lateral dorsum of the feet. The early symptoms of sciatica generally include pain and numbness in the lower limbs. Sciatica usually occurs unilaterally, mainly in adult males, and the onset is usually acute or subacute.

The onset varies depending on the cause. The most common lumbar disc herniation often has an acute or subacute onset due to factors such as exertion, bending over or strenuous activity. A few have chronic onset. The pain often radiates from the waist to one side of the buttocks, back of the thigh, popliteal fossa, outer side of the calf and foot, and is burning or knife-like. The pain may be aggravated by coughing or exerting force, and is worse at night.

Acute onset of sciatica often begins with lower back pain and waist stiffness, followed a few days later by severe pain along the sciatic nerve. There may also be brief pain when walking or exercising and stretching the nerves a few weeks before the onset of the disease, which gradually worsens and develops into severe pain. The pain usually spreads from the buttocks or hips downward to the feet. The pain is most severe on the inner side of the greater trochanter of the thigh, the middle part of the back of the thigh at the posterior iliac sciatic foramen, the popliteal fossa, the outer side of the calf and the outer side of the dorsum of the foot.

For diet conditioning, you can often eat the following foods: 1. Cook 25 grams of Chuanduan and 30 grams of Duchu with 1 pig tail, and season them before taking. 2. Boil 15 grams of mistletoe and 1 egg and drink it. 3. Stew 6 grams of old mulberry branches with 500 grams of female chicken and drink the soup. Note: Rest on a hard bed and do bed exercises. We should combine work and rest, live a regular life, and participate in various sports activities appropriately. After exercise, you should pay attention to protecting your waist and affected limbs. Change your underwear in time if it is wet with sweat to prevent the wet clothes from being dried on your body. It is not advisable to take a shower immediately after sweating. Wait until the sweat falls off before taking a shower to prevent cold and wind. During the acute pain period, do not pick up weights heavier than 10 pounds and do not use your legs, arms, and back to lift heavy objects. You can push but do not pull heavy objects.

The above is an introduction to the causes and treatment measures of sciatica. Patients with this disease must pay attention to it. If they do not pay attention, the disease will be aggravated. So you must pay attention not to always overwork. You should insist on doing gymnastics in bed. This will be beneficial to the treatment of the disease. You must pay attention.
