How to treat Guillain-Barré syndrome?

In modern society, as people face increasingly abundant material life, their physical condition has not improved but has declined a lot. This is because people are in a stage of overnutrition and lack of physical exercise, which gives some diseases an opportunity to take advantage. For example, rare diseases such as Guillain-Barré syndrome are becoming more and more common in life. So, what does it mean to suffer from Guillain-Barré syndrome?

Guillain-Barré syndrome is a common demyelinating disease of the spinal and peripheral nerves. Also known as acute idiopathic polyneuritis or symmetrical polyradiculitis. Clinically, it manifests as progressive ascending symmetrical paralysis, quadriplegia, and varying degrees of sensory impairment.

1. Plant treatment

Drug therapy is a treatment method commonly adopted by many patients and is very effective in the early treatment of the disease. The use of large doses of immunoglobulin has better efficacy, is safe, and has fewer side effects, but is expensive.

2. Symptomatic treatment

For any disease, in addition to early detection and treatment, the choice of treatment method is also very important. Choose a treatment method that suits you and treat it symptomatically to achieve better treatment results. The most important thing in treating Guillain-Barré syndrome is to prevent respiratory muscle paralysis. Severely ill patients require endotracheal intubation or tracheotomy, assisted by a mechanical ventilator, and given antibiotics to prevent infection. Maintaining a patent airway and regularly turning the patient over and patting his back are the keys to reducing the mortality rate.

3. Supportive Therapy

This is one of the effective methods for treating Guillain-Barré syndrome and the effect is very good. Strengthen nutrition. Those who cannot eat should have a nasogastric tube inserted as soon as possible to feed them milk, vegetable soup and high-nutrient substances. The patient's limbs should also be exercised and gait exercises should be performed, and acupuncture and massage should be performed.
