What are the dangers of nicotine?

We need to understand the harm of nicotine. After all, in life, tobacco can be said to be an item that contains a relatively high level of nicotine. Therefore, it is recommended that you should smoke less in daily life to avoid nicotine poisoning, which can lead to nausea, vomiting, low blood pressure or various symptoms of poisoning.

1. Nicotine is a highly addictive substance that occurs naturally in tobacco. It is the active ingredient in tobacco smoke and has a pungent odor and spicy taste. Nicotine is defined as a toxic, oily, pale yellow substance that turns brown when exposed to air. Nicotine in concentrated form can be used as a powerful insecticide.

2. Nicotine mimics the effects of acetylcholine (a nerve signal transmitter) and acts primarily on the autonomic nervous system. Therefore, it is dangerous. Doses of less than 50 mg of nicotine can cause respiratory failure and paralysis. Small amounts can cause poisoning symptoms such as nausea, dizziness, low blood pressure and palpitations.

3. Smokers consume about 3 mg of nicotine per cigarette. Even such small amounts can constrict blood vessels, increase heart rate, and affect the central nervous system. It also gives the smoker a sense of well-being and alertness. Nicotine itself is not a carcinogen. However, it has the potential to increase the risk of heart disease in smokers. Additionally, it may promote tumor growth caused by carcinogens.

4. The use of any form of tobacco products will form a physiological dependence on nicotine. It has been shown to increase the flow of dopamine, a neurotransmitter, which gives users a feeling of pleasure and a desire to continue having it. As nicotine levels in the blood drop, smokers experience withdrawal symptoms within 48-72 hours after their last cigarette. This includes anxiety, insomnia, irritability, changes in heart rate and blood pressure, changes in brain waves, sleeping problems, etc.
