How should congenital bone fractures be treated?

Bone fractures can be congenital or acquired. Generally, acquired fractures are more common and are mostly caused by violence. Bone fractures can be very painful for patients and must be taken seriously. Severe cases may require surgical treatment. Preventive care should be provided in daily life, especially for children.

1. Treatment methods

Bone cracks are medically called fissure fractures, which are a type of fracture. In clinical practice, crack fractures without obvious displacement are the most common, which are generally caused by direct blows, minor impacts and falls, etc. However, if you do not take it seriously and continue to move, it may easily lead to re-displacement of the fracture. Displaced fractures cause pain and may even require surgical treatment.

2. Preventive Care

Fractures can be avoided for some patients. This requires everyone to put safety first in daily life and work. Paying attention at all times can reduce the occurrence of fractures. Children walk unsteadily and are prone to falling, especially so they should not play in high places. Children should be educated and watched carefully to avoid falls. Teenagers play a lot and are very curious. Parents and teachers should do a good job of educating them and tell them not to climb walls or trees. Young and middle-aged people should concentrate when working and riding a bicycle, and pay attention to safety at all times. The elderly have difficulty moving their hands and feet, so they should try not to go out on snowy, rainy days or at night. When going out, you need someone to support you or a cane, and you need lighting when going out at night. It is best not to ride a bicycle on the street and avoid crowded public places.

3. Common pathological causes of bone fractures include:

(1) Direct violence

When violence directly acts on a certain part of the bone and causes a fracture of that part, it often causes a fracture in the injured part, often accompanied by varying degrees of soft tissue damage. If the wheel hits the calf, a fracture of the tibia and fibula will occur at the impact site.

(2) Indirect violence

Indirect violence can cause fractures at a distance through longitudinal conduction, leverage or torsion. For example, when one falls from a height and lands on one's feet, the trunk bends forward sharply due to gravity, and the vertebral bodies at the junction of the thoracic and lumbar spine are subjected to the folding force, causing compression fractures (conduction effect).

(3) Accumulative strain

Long-term, repeated, minor direct or indirect injuries can cause fractures of a specific part of the limbs. For example, long-distance marches can easily cause fractures of the second and third metatarsal bones and the lower 1/3 of the fibula.
