What is colon adenoma?

When it comes to colon adenoma, many patients will worry whether it is a malignant disease. In fact, colon adenoma is a common benign tumor, and often presents symptoms such as anemia, blood in the stool, and changes in bowel habits. In particular, bad living habits, smoking and drinking, etc., can all induce these diseases.

1. Among benign colon tumors, colon adenomas and colon polyps are the most common, while other benign colon tumors are relatively rare. The cause of this disease is often related to many risk factors such as genetics, body shape, smoking, etc., and symptoms such as anemia, blood in the stool, and changes in bowel habits often occur.

2. Other benign colon tumors are less common, such as colon lipoma, colon fibroma, colon myoma, colon adenomyoma, colon hemangioma and colon papilloma. The cause of benign colon tumors is closely related to the tumor type.

3. Hyperinsulinemia may be the cause of colon adenoma. Insulin itself is a growth factor. It may have a direct tumorigenic effect or act indirectly through growth factor-1. In addition, alcohol abuse can induce colon adenomas.

4. So far, the cause of benign colon tumors is unclear. Some may be related to long-term inflammatory stimulation or genetics. Long-term diarrhea. Many patients' intestinal mucosa is prone to allergies. For example, diarrhea occurs after drinking, eating hot peppers or greasy food or seafood. Some patients have diarrhea for no reason. In this way, the intestinal mucosa will have chronic inflammation, which can easily lead to the growth of intestinal polyps. Long-term constipation. Patients with constipation often defecate once every few days. The long-term storage of feces in the intestines will produce various toxins, leading to chronic inflammation of the intestinal mucosa and the growth of polyps.

5. Heredity. For example, familial polyposis is a genetic disease. Inflammatory diseases such as ulcerative colitis and Crohn's disease are prone to polyps.
