Does it hurt to remove the stitches after double eyelid surgery?

Double eyelid surgery and canthoplasty surgery are both popular micro-plastic surgeries in recent years. Many women who love beauty have undergone this surgery to make their eyes bigger and more beautiful. As we all know, double eyelid and canthoplasty surgeries are performed with local anesthesia, so there is no pain, but will it hurt when the stitches are removed? But few people know it. In fact, there will be slight pain when removing stitches after double eyelid surgery or canthoplasty, but it is not obvious and tolerable. If you want to recover quickly after double eyelid surgery or canthoplasty, you must do the following care.

1. After the operation, you can apply pressure to the local wound or use an ice pack to cool it, but the pressure should not be too high to avoid damaging the eyes. If persistent bleeding or severe hematoma occurs after canthoplasty surgery, you should go to the outpatient clinic for a follow-up visit in time.

2. Keep the wound clean to prevent infection. It is very important to clean the wound after double eyelid surgery. If the wound is not clean, it is easy to get infected and lead to the formation of scars. So be careful not to wet the wound when washing your face after surgery. The eye dressing can be removed 1-2 days after the operation. If there are blood scabs or secretions on the wound, wipe them with sterile saline or medical alcohol.

3. There will be some pain in the wound on the day of eyelid canthoplasty surgery, but it will gradually ease with the passage of time. Patients should not rush to take painkillers because aspirin-like drugs will aggravate wound bleeding.

4. After double eyelid canthoplasty surgery, you should rest in a quiet and comfortable environment. The indoor air should be fresh and circulated and maintain a certain temperature.

5. Increase protein intake in your diet and eat more fruits and fresh vegetables.

6. Do not watch TV or read newspapers within one week after the operation. It is best to rest in bed in a semi-recumbent position (with a raised pillow) to avoid excessive eye fatigue or low head position which may aggravate wound swelling.

7. Strictly follow the doctor’s instructions on taking medication and going for follow-up visits.

Does it hurt to remove the stitches after double eyelid and canthoplasty? As long as you go to a regular hospital for plastic surgery and get a good anesthesia, you will not feel any pain during the operation, and there will be no obvious pain when the stitches are removed after the operation.
