The eye pain of acute angle-closure glaucoma is severe swelling and pain in the eyeball accompanied by ipsilateral migraine, as well as visual impairment, halo vision, foggy vision, nausea and vomiting. Retrobulbar neuritis is deep eye pain, and dull pain behind the eye is felt when the eye moves or when the eye is pressed. Supraorbital neuralgia is extremely painful, with obvious tenderness at the supraorbital notch at night.

Eye pain caused by refractive error or accommodation fatigue is often related to looking at close objects and will improve after closing your eyes and resting. Panophthalmitis, orbital cellulitis, etc. are characterized by swelling and pain in the entire eye and orbit, pain when the eyeball moves, accompanied by severe headache and systemic acute infection symptoms.
