How to treat tongue hemangioma? Is tongue hemangioma easy to treat?

Hemangioma is a common tumor, which is usually congenital and more common in infants and young children. It can occur in various parts of the body, among which tongue hemangioma is also relatively common. Types include capillary hemangioma, cavernous hemangioma, and racemose hemangioma. Although hemangioma is a benign tumor, it should still be taken seriously and treated in a timely manner.

1. Surgical treatment

Surgical treatment of tongue hemangioma will affect the function of the tongue after surgery. After treatment, the hemangioma lesions disappear, the tongue shrinks, and the normal function of the tongue is basically restored. If the tongue is too large, partial tongue resection can be performed.

2. Necrosis therapy

The use of necrosis therapy to treat tongue hemangiomas often has satisfactory therapeutic effects. Experts have treated some large cavernous hemangiomas on the tongue that affected the patient's speech and eating.

3. Blood flow balance therapy

The use of blood flow balance therapy can basically maintain the normal anatomical shape of the tongue without affecting the function of the tongue, especially for those with large hemangiomas on the tongue body and tongue root that have not been cured after surgery or other methods of treatment.

4. Partial glossectomy or hemiglossectomy

Lingual hemangioma often affects one side of the tongue. If the lesion is limited, partial glossectomy or half glossectomy can be performed. If the lesion is large or limited to the root of the tongue, surgery cannot remove most of the tongue and affect the function of the tongue after surgery. Surgical operations at the root of the tongue are very difficult, so surgical treatment is not recommended.
