The detection of glycosylated hemoglobin is one of the indicators for determining diabetes. High or low concentrations indicate that there is something abnormal in the body. When the glycated hemoglobin level is high, we should pay attention to it. Changing the dietary structure can assist in treating the symptoms of high glycated hemoglobin. If you don't pay attention to your diet, the symptoms will get worse.

What to do if Glycated Hemoglobin is high?

The normal value of glycosylated hemoglobin is less than 6.5%. Normal value of glycosylated hemoglobin: 4.6~6.4.

For those with normal weight, no complications, and who engage in heavy physical labor, the daily staple food intake can be appropriately relaxed to more than 300 grams (dry, meaning uncooked).

For children, pregnant women, lactating women and the malnourished, the staple food should be 250 to 300 grams. Meat and eggs can be increased to 200-300 grams, cooking oil 40 grams, one egg per day, and 250 ml or more milk.

For those who are obese with mild complications or the elderly, the daily staple food intake is limited to 200-250 grams, vegetables 400-500 grams, meat and eggs 105 grams, and cooking oil 30 grams.

Eat whole grains regularly, preferably oats, buckwheat, and bran. Eat more bitter melon. 100 grams of meat per meal (with bones). Just make sure you get enough nutrition every day, and eat more vegetables to fill your stomach.

It is better to eat broad-leaf vegetables than small-leaf vegetables, and small-leaf vegetables are better than stem-tube vegetables. Eat less potatoes (such as sweet potatoes), and if you do eat them, reduce the amount of staple food appropriately.

When eating meat, it is better to eat meat with two legs (chicken) than meat with four legs (pig), as it contains less fat. Fish without legs is better than meat with two legs (chicken).

If you want to have a snack, have it between meals, around 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. You can use cucumbers, tomatoes (which can be eaten as fruits), sugar-free biscuits or unsweetened biscuits.

If blood sugar is under ideal control, stable without fluctuations, fasting blood sugar is controlled below 7.8mmol/L, blood sugar two hours after a meal is controlled below 10.0mmol/L, and glycosylated hemoglobin is below 7.5%, then you can eat your favorite delicious fruits. Eat some low-sugar fruits 4 hours after a meal, such as grapefruit, lemon, watermelon, peach, pear, strawberry, and apple.

The required amount of cholesterol per person per day is less than 300 mg. The yolk of one egg contains just under 300 mg of cholesterol. Therefore, eating one egg yolk per person a day is just in line with the nutritional requirements. 20 peanuts, 40 melon seeds or 2 walnuts are equivalent to 10 grams of pure fat. Eating 75 grams of fish is equivalent to eating 25 grams of lean pork.

The meals must be light and no fatty meat should be eaten. The monthly vegetable oil consumption per person should be limited to about 400-600 grams.
