Protruding eye recovery training method

Protruding eye recovery training method

If you want to effectively restore exophthalmos, you must pay attention to some methods and techniques. Many people think that pressing the eyes can achieve the desired effect, but this is not recommended. It may even cause astigmatism or uneven eyeballs, so the gain does not outweigh the loss.

1. Prevention

There are many causes of exophthalmos, and different causes have different treatment principles. Patients with exophthalmos should go to the hospital's ophthalmology department in time to determine the type and specific cause of the exophthalmos and receive etiological treatment, especially if the exophthalmos is caused by trauma. They should seek medical examination and treatment in a timely manner. If exophthalmos is not treated, the eyeball will protrude further and incomplete eyelid closure will cause exposure keratitis and damage vision. Especially if exophthalmos is caused by malignant tumors, it may lead to distant metastasis and endanger life. 2. Surgical treatment

Treatment depends on etiology; arteriovenous aneurysms should be treated by ligation of the affected common carotid artery. Exophthalmos caused by hyperthyroidism may disappear after the hyperthyroidism is controlled. Occasionally, stubborn cases require orbital decompression surgery. When the eyeball is exophthalmos, the exposed cornea must be protected. Exophthalmos caused by the thyroid gland is often accompanied by exposure keratitis. Systemic corticosteroids often help control edema and pseudotumors (e.g., oral prednisone 1 mg/kg daily for 1 week, then every other day for 5 weeks, and then gradually reduced to the minimum dose that can control the exophthalmos). The tumor must be removed.
