Which five types of people are prone to glioma

Generally speaking, there is no saying that five types of people are prone to glioma. Glioma is a common brain tumor that originates from glial cells in the brain. At present, the cause of glioma is not completely clear, but there are some factors related to its occurrence, such as genetic factors, gene mutations, radiation therapy, long-term exposure to carcinogens, and infection with cytomegalovirus.

1. Genetic factors: Certain genetic diseases may increase the risk of glioma. For example, neurofibromatosis and familial adenomatosis are related to the occurrence of glioma. If there are patients with glioma in the family, the probability of this group of people developing glioma is often higher.

2. Gene mutation: Certain gene mutations are related to the occurrence of glioma, for example, TP53 gene mutation is related to the occurrence of glioma.

3. Received radiation therapy: In general, people who have received head radiation therapy may face a higher risk of glioma, including those who have received head radiation therapy for childhood leukemia or other brain tumors.

4. Long-term exposure to carcinogens: Long-term exposure to certain carcinogens, such as certain chemicals or harmful substances, may increase the risk of glioma. These substances may exist in the working environment or daily life.

5. Previous infection with cytomegalovirus: Patients who have been infected with cytomegalovirus may have an increased risk of developing glioma, but it is not yet certain.

Gliomas can occur at any age, but certain types of gliomas are more common in certain age groups. Children and young people are more likely to have pediatric brainstem gliomas, while adults are more likely to have adult-type gliomas. If you experience any symptoms, you should seek medical attention immediately.
