Are myopic sunglasses good for your eyes?

For people who wear myopia glasses, it would be best of both worlds to have a pair of myopia sunglasses for the hot summer. This way you can block the glaring sunlight while still seeing the world clearly. So is wearing myopic sunglasses good for your eyes?

1. Those sunglasses with prescription are a combination of myopia glasses and sunglasses. They are harmless to the eyes, but they require longer time to adapt to than ordinary glasses. Also, the frames of the sunglasses should not be too curved or too large, because myopia lenses are thin in the middle and thick around the edges. A large frame will make the edges of the lenses very thick, which will not look good. Therefore, people with high degrees are not suitable for matching.

2. However, if the patient has severe myopia exceeding 600 degrees, the corrected vision is not ideal. If he wears a pair of tinted glasses, it will be like putting a layer of dark mist in front of his eyes, making it more difficult to see things. For the same reason, people with myopia, astigmatism and corrected visual acuity less than 1.0 should not wear them.

3. If you have low myopia, wearing ordinary sunglasses will not affect your vision. You can choose yellow lenses, which can increase the sensitivity of your visual cells. If you don't know what color is suitable for you, you can try putting on sunglasses and looking in the mirror. If you can see your pupil clearly through the lens, the color will be relatively standard.

It should be noted that tinted glasses are not suitable for wearing indoors. Over time, they will increase the damage to vision and eye health, and you must have a pair of ordinary myopia glasses. In addition, myopia sunglasses must be tested and fitted at a professional hospital or institution, and you must never just buy one casually.
